Gasification of pure and mixed feedstock components: Effect on syngas composition and gasification efficiency

چکیده

The aim of this work was to investigate whether the use individual tree components (i.e., stem wood, bark, branches, and needles spruces) as feedstocks during oxygen blow gasification is more efficient than using mixtures these components. Experiments were performed at three levels in an 18-kW blown fixed bed gasifier with both single mixed component feedstocks. composition resulting syngas cold gas efficiency based on CO H2 (CGEfuel) used response variables evaluate influence different performance. Based experimental results data ?26000 trees drawn from a national Swedish spruce database, multivariate models developed simulate performance under operating conditions feedstock compositions. revealed that optimal CGEfuel respect supply differed markedly between Additionally, showed co-gasification yielded lower separate pure Optimizing for average reduced GCEfuel by 1.3–6.2% when compared Therefore, if single-component are available, it may be preferable gasify them separately because doing so provides higher

Gasification, Producer Gas and Syngas - FSA1051

Gasification involves turning organic fuels (such as biomass resources) into gaseous compounds (producer gas or syngas) by supplying less oxygen than is needed for com plete combustion of the fuel. Gasifica tion occurs at temperatures between 1112o and 2732o F and produces a lowto medium-energy gas depending upon the process type and operating conditions. Gasification of biomass resources is ...

Thermogravimetric characterization of corn stover as gasification and pyrolysis feedstock

Interest in generating energy from biomass has grown tremendously in recent years. Corn stover is an agricultural by-product, which is abundant in quantity. Gasification and pyrolysis are efficient methods of harnessing energy efficiently from corn stover. The performances of mathematical models to predict the product gas quality rely on characterization of feed materials and the reaction kinet...

Advances in Gasification and Pyrolysis Research Using Various Biomass Feedstock

This paper discusses recent advances in gasification and pyrolysis research utilizing various biomass wastes including cotton gin trash. Texas A&M University (TAMU) has recently filed a provisional patent for a modular fluidized bed gasification and pyrolysis system (Serial No. 61/302,001, February 2010). Discussions on the capabilities of both systems are explained. In addition, recent researc...

Storing syngas lowers the carbon price for profitable coal gasification.

Integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) electric power generation systems with carbon capture and sequestration have desirable environmental qualities but are not profitable when the carbon dioxide price is less than approximately $50 per metric ton. We examine whether an IGCC facility that operates its gasifier continuously butstores the syngas and produces electricity only when daily pr...
